As part of the rehabilitation and upgrading works along Salerno – Reggio Calabria Highway, Sering developed the Construction design of Brignano I and Brignano II viaducts.

The main characteristics of Brignano I viaduct are as follows:

• Total length 310 m
• Simple supported spans
• Maximum height 20 m
• Span length 17 m
• Pier foundations consist of drilled and cast in place piles, diameter d = 1200 mm, length L = 25 m
• Abutment foundations consist of shaft foundations 16 m deep

The main characteristics of Brignano II viaduct are as follows:

• Total length 400 m
• Simple supported spans
• Maximum height 20 m
• Span length 35 m+
• Pier foundations consist of drilled and cast in place piles, diameter d = 1200 mm, length L = 25 m

Sering provided to develop several services including:

• Carrying out site investigations;
• The critical elaboration of the experimental data with on-site investigations and laboratory tests, to examine the physical-mechanical properties of foundation soils;
• The geotechnical characterization of soils
• Research, geotechnical and structural terms, the best solutions for the viaducts
• Structural and geotechnical design of the viaducts
• Technical assistance to the Contractor during construction
