The Museum of Hippana in the Municipality of Prizzi consists of three sections: Archaeological – Paleontological – Mineralogy.

In the archeological section, the findings from excavations carried out at Hippana by the Superintendence and deliveries made by private individuals are exposed. Hippana or Hyppana, was an ancient city of Sicily, mentioned by Polybius as conquered by the Romans in the First Punic War, 260 BC. The ruins of the city can be visited on the hill in front of the country of Prizzi.

In the paleontological section there are fossils from several paleontological deposits of Sicily, some of which also from the territory of Prizzi.

The mineralogical section collects a rich and multifaceted collection of minerals from mineral deposits in Siciliy and Sardinia.

SERING was responsible for the paleontological and mineralogical exhibition and took care of the selection of samples of fossils and minerals.
