The project concerns the rehabilitation/reconstruction of Qurum-Sarooj Road after Gonu Cyclone that hit Muscat City on June, 7th 2007. The road has a carriageway 22.2 m wide, comprising 2 traffic lanes, 2 parking lanes and 2 footpaths 4 m wide
Works include the construction of two bridges. Bridge 1 is a 30 m long, single span bridge. Bridge 2 is a 150 m long, 5 spans bridge. Scouring protection of piers is assured by rock armour placed around the foundations. The superstructure of both bridges is made of no.18 precast, post tensioned, T shaped concrete girders and of a concrete slab 20 cm thick.
