The project developed by Sering regarded the of the rehabilitation and upgrading of about 10 km of SS284 Occidentale Etnea Road until the municipality of Bronte (CT).

The project has included  the following:

• Madonna della Vena viaduct 230 m long, with steel-concrete structure, 100 m max length span
• Ciapparo viaduct 85 m long, single arch, with steel-concrete structure
• Madonna della Vena I artificial tunnel 140 m long
• Madonna della Vena II artificial tunnel 80 m long
• Ciapparo artificial tunnel 181 m long
• four junctions.
• box underpasses, retaining walls, reinforced earth embankments

The design included also the topographic and the geological survey, the hydrological / hydraulic studies and the Environmental Impact Assessment in an important naturalistic area along the slopes of .Etna Volcano.
