As part of the rehabilitation and upgrading works along Salerno – Reggio Calabria Highway, Sering developed the Construction design of Rufoli Tunnel. The main characteristics of the tunnel as follows:

• Two tunnels 22 m diameter (four lanes) each
• Dual carriage ways four lanes (5,5 km long)

Sering provided to develop several services including:

• Carrying out site investigations
• Critical elaboration of the experimental data with on-site investigations and laboratory tests, to examine the physical-mechanical properties of foundation soils
• Geotechnical characterization of soils
• Research, geotechnical and structural terms, the best solutions for the tunnel
• Structural and geotechnical design of the tunnels
• Technical assistance to the Contractor during construction
• Monitoring during construction and at the end of work
