Within the scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment, in addition to the local stone lining of the hydraulic works, the arrangement of the parts of the rivers banks immediately downstream the works with “Reno” mattresses; the spondal protection by means of grooves along the course of the river Frattina. Particular attention has been paid to cycling routes as well as to ecological routes.
The new planned alignment required the eradication of part of the vegetation which, by the characteristics of the root system, could not be saved by replanting. Therefore, the vegetation plant ex-novo was planned of plants of the same species so as not to alter the landscape.
