Renovation works have begun at the state-owned Malaspina complex in Palermo, located at Via Principe di Palagonia 135. The project is part of the National Programme for the Energy Renovation of Buildings of the Central Public Administration, promoted by the Ministry of Economic Development. It aims to reduce the building’s primary energy consumption by over 50%.

The intervention is financed under the Framework Agreement of the above-mentioned programme, signed between the Italian State Property Agency (Agenzia del Demanio) and the Interregional Public Works Authority for Sicily and Calabria. SERING Ingegneria S.r.l. is the lead firm of the design team and is responsible for the detailed design, while construction works are entrusted to Consorzio Stabile Santa Chiara Scarl, with the participation of the consortium member PROMEDIL.

Awarded on January 10, 2025, the contract is now pending signature, which will mark the beginning of the detailed design phase and, subsequently, the start of construction works. This initiative is part of a broader national strategy to improve the energy performance of public real estate assets, aiming to reduce environmental impact and enhance building sustainability.
