Abstract

The design of the Al Musannah football stadium is a state-of-the-art architectural structure, conceived to host international-level sporting events. With a seating capacity of approximately 26,500 spectators, it features a rectangular configuration that ensures optimal visibility from every point, bringing the audience closer to the pitch. The playing field is made of natural grass. The field’s lighting, with a minimum intensity of 2000 lux, ensures excellent visibility even for nighttime matches.

The stadium’s main structure is built with reinforced concrete, while the roof consists of a steel lattice covered with a high-tech fabric. This fabric not only provides protection from weather elements but also enables the collection of rainwater, which is reused for irrigation and field maintenance.

The stadium façade features a continuous metal surface coated with a high-tech “skin” that filters natural light and accommodates LED installations, creating spectacular lighting effects during evening events. The architecture of the façade and roof also promotes natural ventilation in outdoor areas, helping to maintain a pleasant temperature and reducing overall energy consumption.

The entire project aligns with FIFA’s Green Goal principles, integrating environmentally sustainable solutions such as the use of eco-friendly materials and photovoltaic technologies installed on the external portico, thereby reducing the structure’s environmental impact. This stadium blends harmoniously into the landscape, becoming a new urban landmark and a hub for the local community.
